The Green Bay Packers may have an opening on the offensive line when free agency starts. Center Scott Wells is set to be a free agent and have not come close to reaching an agreement on a new contract according to reports.
Free agency begins March 13, so stay tuned for updates with this situation.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy has already stated that he doesn't know anything about the situation with Wells, however believes that Wells has no reason to not come back.
Reports say that the 31 year old Wells, who has spent his entire career with the Packers, wants a deal that pays $7.5 million per year, and the Packers are only willing to go between four and five million per year.
Myers has been the Texans starter for the past four years and has played extremely well. Texans head coach Gary Kubiak and GM Rick Smith want to keep Myers.
Fellow Packer teammate T.J. Lang tweeted their support for Wells after Jermichael Finley got his two year deal.
"Glad to hear the news about @JermichaelF88… now let's her (sic) Scott Wells back!" Lang tweeted.Tags: Chris Myers, Football, Green Bay, Green Bay Packers, NFL, Scott Wells
